Erroll G. Southers is TAL Global’s Managing Director of Counter-Terrorism and Infrastructure Protection.
Erroll is a former FBI Special Agent, Presidential nominee for Assistant Secretary of the TSA and Governor Schwarzenegger’s Deputy Director in the California Office of Homeland Security. He is the Associate Director of the National Homeland Security Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events (CREATE) at the University of Southern California (USC), where he developed the Executive Program in Counter-Terrorism, and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Homeland Security and Public Policy. He is the former Chief of Homeland Security and Intelligence for the Los Angeles World Airports Police Department, the nation’s largest airport police force.
Erroll began his law enforcement career with the Santa Monica Police Department where he was appointed to the faculty and tactical staff of the Rio Hondo Police Academy. He went on to serve on FBI SWAT.
He has testified as a subject matter expert before the full Congressional Committee on Homeland Security and is a lecturer at the Joint Chiefs of Staff Antiterrorism Seminars.
Erroll earned his BA degree at Brown University and MPA at USC, where he is recognized as a Counter-Terrorism expert. He is a Senior Fellow of the UCLA School of Public Affairs and has lectured widely in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Israel, Hong Kong and China, where he was invited to assess security for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
