Sometimes it is the information gathered by "reading between the lines" that is most critical in investigations. When a large international conglomerate asked TAL Global to provide a background check on a potential real estate development partner, the lack of information was striking. Born into a family of wealth and well educated, the potential partner claimed to be a wealthy entrepreneur with many business holdings in Mexico. Yet, despite thorough research that involved public and private records, covert investigations, interviews with real estate professionals, law enforcement agencies, financial institutions and socialites, little could be uncovered about this man and his family. TAL Global cautioned that while no negative business or financial dealings could be linked to the executive, it is rare that one of such proclaimed wealth would be so unknown within prominent business and social circles. The high level of detail that went into this investigation convinced our client that further research was required.
